Refractive surgeries and LASIK

Refractive surgery is a power correction surgery used to correct refractive errors, LASIK eye surgery is a treatment that reshapes the cornea in order to produce clear vision to lead a spectacle-free life. It normally takes 5-10 minutes per eye. The LASIK refractive eye surgery procedure can treat myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism (Cylinder power) and reduce the patient’s dependency on contact lenses and glasses. DR.AEH Provide customized laser vision correction with the most advanced diagnostics, intensive pre-operative assessment state-of-the-art OT infrastructure meticulous post-operative care at the hands of Dr Praveen Kumar with more than 20 years of Experience which makes DR.ANIL KUMAR HOSPITAL the most preferred centre for refractive surgeries.

What are the various tests done before Lasik/Customized Lasik?
A
Refractive procedure is a highly sophisticated and sensitive treatment.
A
An intense preoperative evaluation is required to determine eligibility.
A
The evaluation helps identify which refractive procedure is suitable for your specific needs.
A
Factors considered during the evaluation: Refractive error (glass power), Corneal thickness and curvature, General eye health, Presence of dry eyes

These factors are crucial in deciding your eligibility for a particular refractive (power correction) procedure.

Who can undergo LASIK

Must be 18 years or older

Have healthy eyes, not suffering from dry eyes

Eye power must be stable for 1 year before surgery

You must not be pregnant

Don't forget to mention any medical conditions or medication

LASIK Check Up

A
Spectacle Power Assessment
A
Corneal Topography Using Sirius Topography / Pentacam

Different LASER Treatments

PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy)

Advanced PRK. The excimer laser sculpting process is performed with accurate eye tracking systems. The healing process takes about a week and patients can see well nough to go back to work and even resume sports activities

Trans PRK (No Touch LASIK)

This is a NO Touch, No Blade, No Cut, No Flap Technology. It is one of the quickest vision correction procedures and is suitable for those with thin corneas and high myopia.
Wavefront Lasik
LASIK is an excellent refractive surgery option for those seeking greater visual freedom. In Wavefront-guided Lasik, Optical aberrations (imperfections) in the eye are also corrected. Conventional Lasik can only correct the spectacle power & not these aberrations. With Wavefront-guided Lasik, reducing these aberrations enhances vision much above normal levels. This is also referred to as Custom Lasik / Zyoptix or Opti Lasik/ Contura Lasik.
Implantable Contact Lens
ICL is a high-tech yet simple way of correcting your refractive error. This ICL Procedure is normally suggested for people not eligible for Lasik/ Femto Lasik due to High power or Very Thin cornea. It can correct upto Minus 20 D power.

Bladeless Femto Lasik

Femtosecond Lasik Also called Bladeless LASIK or Blade free LASIK, in which An ultra-fast femtosecond laser used to create a thin flap on the surface of the eye, Excimer laser to reshape the underlying corneal tissue to correct your vision. This is one of the fastest and safest Power correction laser with very Fast Recovery. The patient almost gets normal vision within 6 hours. The person can almost become normal within 1 day and resume routine work after 1 day.

Advantages

1. No Blade and Most Safest
2. Most Comfortable
3. Fastest Recovery
4. Least Rest Required

Keratoconus & C3R Laser

Keratoconus is the condition in which the front part of your eye, called the cornea, thins out and gets weaker over time. If keratoconus is diagnosed, the person is not eligible for power correction laser procedures. If the symptoms of keratoconus get severe, you will need a DALK corneal transplant surgery in the later stages. In the initial stages, collagen cross-linking (C3R) laser involves the application of riboflavin solution to the cornea, followed by exposure of the cornea to low-dose ultraviolet light. This reduces the progression of keratoconus. For some patients, TG-PRK + C3R laser improves vision.
